It’s been great to have kids back in the water at the Drake and Sleepy Hollow Pools! In total, we were able to get over 150 kids back in the water over the last 5 weeks. We feel confident in the systems in place to keep everyone healthy and we want to give you a brief look into how fall swim and water polo will work.
Currently, the Marin County Guidelines make it clear that all kids should be 6 feet apart with no contact and wearing masks when not in the pool. At both pools we plan to run a 6 week combo of swim/polo conditioning, and fundamental ball skill/movement development. We will include passing and some shooting in our practices, but will not be doing contact drills or scrimmaging.
Body weight dry land exercises will also be incorporated throughout the session. These programs will begin September 8th and run through October 15th. Registration will open at 9am on August 24th. Until then, we urge our student/athletes to start off the school year as proactive learners and be motivated, focused and flexible. Please work positively with your schools, teachers and parents to get the most out of the distance learning model.
Let us know if you have any questions regarding our program, we look forward to starting back up after Labor Day…
